Review

A star rating of 2 out of 5.

In this teen romance with a Twilight Zone-like twist, a being known as "A" inexplicably wakes up every day inside a different body - some male, some female. The object of his/her/their affections is a shy and sheltered 16-year-old (Angourie Rice), who adapts rather too readily to the weird situation of being wooed every day by a different someone who's actually the same entity, but in a different body. Reflecting both its derivation from a young adult novel and its target tweenage audience, Every Day plays it rather safe and sanitised, with no sex or edge, and no real desire to probe the potential complexities of its strangely creepy scenario. But it's a mild diversion for teenagers - principally girls, one suspects - who are too old for kiddie stuff, but aren't yet fazed by such things as plot holes and implausibility.
