Three snowboarders are left behind on an Austrian mountain at an après-ski tavern. When an experiment to create artificial snow unleashes a zombie epidemic, the friends and buxom tavern owner must survive their wurst nightmares!
A group of snowboarders get more than they bargained for when the ski resort they are stranded at suffers a zombie outbreak. Subtlety is the first victim in this often gruesome comedy, which sends up a lot of the conventions of the zombie genre as our sarcastic heroes fight to survive. The jokes are hit and miss, but it's quite clear that the intention is to make you laugh rather than jump. In that sense, the film just about achieves its objective. The effects are equally inconsistent, although some of the more outlandish make up just adds to the film's satirical nature. The main cast feel somewhat stilted and unlikeable, relying on the script's clever dialogue rather than any chemistry or charisma, although lead Gabriela Marcinkova comes into her own once the action starts. This low-budget spoof will appeal to devotees of the zombie genre, but ultimately it's too amateurish to stand out from the staggering crowd.
