A female backpacker is held captive in this gripping, beautifully shot psychological thriller packed with chilling moments and suspenseful sequences. Teresa Palmer (Hacksaw Ridge) plays Clare, a young Australian woman who has travelled to Berlin on her own. While exploring the city, she meets a handsome, charming schoolteacher named Andi (Max Riemelt), who seems like a nice guy. After spending the night together, however, Clare wakes up to find she is trapped in Andi's apartment, and that he has no intention of letting her leave. What follows is deeply unsettling and quietly horrifying, not least because Andi behaves as though the two of them are a normal couple. The film is a bit slow to start, but it gradually evolves into a riveting, tension-soaked thriller that will keep you on tenterhooks until the very end.
