Jack Reacher: Never Go Back

Tom Cruise returns as the ex-military-cop hero of Lee Child's book series in this sequel. This time, Reacher is made a fugitive after being wrongly accused of murder, which also means breaking a date with Major Turner (Cobie Smulders). She's on the run, too, after being accused of selling government secrets. Together, they must prove their innocence and, in another cliché, a feisty teenager (Danika Yarosh) is thrown into the mix, who may or may not be Reacher's daughter. Some knowing humour helps leaven the pudding, while director Edward Zwick (Blood Diamond) makes sure the 54-year-old Cruise isn't upstaged in the slickly staged punch-ups.
