The third in the endearingly violent thriller series finds Keanu Reeves's stoic hitman on the run with a $14 million price on his head. With every assassin in New York out to make their name and a fortune, our taciturn antihero is forced to flee and fetches up in Morocco to drum up help. Hitting the neo-noir ground running and careening nonstop from hilariously over-the-top gun battles and kinetic fights with books, horses and knives to spectacular motorcycle and Casbah stunts, the preposterous action invention only gets slightly over-extended in the psychedelic glass-room finale. Among a fine array of cameos - overripe Anjelica Huston, jokey Jerome Flynn, steadfast Laurence Fishburne - Halle Berry shines as Sofia, the boss of the Casablanca Continental, and clearly deserves a spin-off episode. Meanwhile, her two protective Belgian Shepherd dogs steal the canine kudos.
