This low-budget stalk-and-slash horror movie sees director Damien Leone revive murderous Art the Clown from his 2013 All Hallows Eve horror anthology. The familiar-sounding premise follows two party girls (Jenna Kanell and Catherine Corcoran) as they are stalked through a city at night by an enigmatic murderer. However, this silent but deadly fiend is tricky and incredibly durable, and the film continually wrongfoots the audience about who is going to meet a terrible end - and how. Even seasoned horror fans may feel a little liverish from Art's merciless menu of bodily perforations, some of which push the limits of on-screen gore to breaking point. But despite the unsparing claret, there's also plenty of atmosphere and a gnawing tension that's maintained all the way to the sequel-hinting climax.
