It's no surprise this grisly creature feature has been called "Razorback for the 21st century", as a ferocious porcine predator the size of a rhino chews its way through a vacationing family, geriatric farmers and various campers in rural Australia. Director Chris Sun (Charlie's Farm) keeps the fearsome beastie in the shadows initially and uses unsettling sound to set the scene for the shock and gore that follows. It's not especially original but has cult cachet thanks to genre icons including John Jarrett (Wolf Creek), Bill Moseley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2), original Razorback star Chris Haywood and Mad Max's Roger Ward and Steve Bisley. Sun cuts along with the mayhem, too, which ensures his special effects unit has plenty to do, and the smackdown between man-mountain ex-wrestler Nathan Jones (Rictus Erectus in Mad Max: Fury Road) and the tusky terror is suitably titanic.
