It's that time of year again. The Golden Globes are upon us and with it the start of Hollywood's 2018 awards season.

The first big ceremony of the new year is an early indicator of who will be taking home the major prizes come the Oscars in February. Here's everything you need to know:

When are the Golden Globes?

The Golden Globes take place on Sunday 7th January. Over in LA they start at 5pm but for us Brits it means a long night if we want to monitor the results live – they start at 1am UK time!

Who is hosting the ceremony?

Jimmy Fallon has handed over the reins to fellow talk show host Seth Myers who will be in control of this year's event.
