Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 – Myths & Mortals – is now well under way, with the gods of Olympus and beyond entering the battle royale roster of characters.
After introducing the likes of Solid Snake, Peter Griffin and such in the previous season, Greek mythology is now in charge.
Everyone from Zeus to Hades has taken arms against the island combatants, with plenty of new weapons, limited-time skins, exciting emotes and more rolling out in the latest update.
While Fortnite went through a lengthy server downtime as the new content was patched into the game, it's all now live and kicking. And there's a lot!
The whole map has seen a bit of an overhaul, with lots of legendary locations now scattered. Within these, there are gods and goddesses ready to aid or even, in some cases, take you down in battle.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 skins - all battle pass characters
As part of the Myths & Mortals battle pass, new Olympian Outfits can be unlocked. Take a look at these new skins and details of how to unlock each below:
Cerberus
How to unlock: Cerberus is unlocked upon purchase of Chapter 5 Season 2 battle pass.
Aphrodite
How to unlock: Redeem all Page 3 rewards (level 14), nine Battle Stars.
Poseidon
How to unlock: Redeem all Page 6 rewards (level 26), nine Battle Stars.
Medusa
How to unlock: Redeem all Page 8 rewards (level 46), nine Battle Stars.
Zeus
How to unlock: Redeem all Page 9 rewards (level 54), nine Battle Stars.
Artemis
How to unlock: Redeem all Page 11 rewards (level 70), nine Battle Stars.
Hades
How to unlock: Redeem all Page 13 rewards (level 86), nine Battle Stars.
Korra (Avatar: The Legend of Korra)
How to unlock: Set to arrive on 2nd April 2024, details to follow.
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: Map changes
The new Fortnite season, titled Myths & Mortals, will feature Greek gods Zeus and Hades, new locations, weapons, loot and updates. Let's begin with the map changes as below:

Legendary Location - Mount Olympus
Epic announced this new location by saying: "You can’t have Olympus without Mount Olympus. Home of Zeus, you’ll always feel like you’re being watched with the grand monument that graces this great mountain."
Legendary Location - The Grim Gate
"To get to The Underworld, one way to get there is crossing the river at Grim Gate… where the three-headed guard dog Cerberus awaits. Venture to the west of the Island to confront these canines!"
Legendary Location - The Underworld
"Past the hounds is the home of Hades: The Underworld. Despite its flowing streams, the land of this city is almost completely dried up."
Legendary Location - Brawler's Battleground
"The god of war, Ares always welcomes a battle. Take him up on his challenge in the Brawler’s Battleground arena south of Mount Olympus. (Oh yeah, Ares will be the Outfit of the April 2024 Crew Pack!)"

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2: Loot - new weapons and items
A new item, the Thunderbolt of Zeus, lets players lift into the air before sending a devastating lighting bolt towards their target. Players will need to defeat Zeus himself to unlock this Mythic Power or find it across the island.
There's also the Wings of Icarus that let you fly across the map, but only for a short period of time, lest your wings burn up.
The Chain of Hades will be added to the game later in the season, but we can see a wee teaser of it on X.
There are new weapons to try out, too:
- Gatekeeper Shotgun
- Harbinger SMG
- Huntress DMR
- Warforged Assault Rifle
Players can also get some new mods for their weapons:
- Thermal Scope – Doubles the scope view and features thermal vision
- Speedgrip – Increases movement speed when aiming

- Hammer Pump Shotgun
- Frenzy Auto Shotgun
- Nemesis AR
- Thunder Burst SMG
- Reaper Sniper Rifle

When did Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 start? Confirmed release date and UK start time delay
The Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 release date was Friday 8th March 2024, and it will run until 24th May 2024, the developers from Epic have now confirmed.
As for a precise time, the official Epic website originally stated that the new Fortnite season would be playable by around 1 pm GMT, from a UK perspective, on 8th March.
However, there were unforeseen problems in the changeover between seasons, prompting the developers to delay the go-live time a couple of times throughout Friday.
We're pleased to say that, as of Saturday morning, Fortnite is back online and the new season is currently playable.
The developers have warned against fluctuating queue times, but the game is back and the new season has begun! We've got all the key details below.
When did Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 end? Confirmed date
Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 ended at 7am on Friday 8th March 2024 for those in the UK.
Anyone in the US will have noticed that Chapter 5 Season 1 ended at 11pm PT on 7th March/2am ET on 8th March 2024.
Fortnite is available across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via the Epic Games Store.
