There is – I think – a new craftsman joining the regulars in the Repair Shop this week: master cobbler Dean Westmoreland, who’s being asked to restore a pair of running spikes that were worn by Tom’s grandmother when she won silver in the 1936 Olympics.
Across the barn, art on paper conservator Louise Drover demonstrates endless patience while repairing the damaged watercolour portrait of Lorna’s brave father who fought apartheid in South Africa, while musical instrument expert Pete Woods is hoping his gentle ministrations will make Victoria’s father’s clarinet sound the right note again. All the objects are incredibly important to their owners so – as always – there are tears.
There are no live broadcasts scheduled for this show. But it is available via the streaming provider below.
