The Office

When Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant revealed they wouldn't be writing another series of The Office it felt like Christmas had been cancelled but the pair brought festive cheer right back with two 45 minute long specials that had us chuckling over our turkey sandwiches back in 2003.

Set three years after the original series, The Office Christmas specials caught up with David Brent and co. to see what hand life had dealt them. And, most importantly, reunited Tim and Dawn.

Gavin & Stacey

The tale of two star crossed lovers from Essex and Wales never failed to deliver on a regular basis so it's no wonder that their festive offering remains a right Christmas treat.

Who knew what would be "occurin" when Nessa and the Wests headed east with Uncle Bryn brandishing his mistletoe? Mick's turkey ruled the roost in Essex, where Smithy couldn't wait to spend his first Christmas with baby Neil and Pam laid on a fabulous spread.

If we had to sum it up in one word? Lush.

Wallace and Gromit

It wouldn't be Christmas without Wallace and Gromit now, would it? From A Grand Day Out and The Wrong Trousers to A Close Shave and A Matter of Loaf and Death, the pair's adventures have been an essential element of festive telly for more than 25 years now.

They may have handed the reigns to Aardman Animations stablemat Shaun The Sheep in recent years, but the iconic double act are part of a Christmas tradition that's definitely here to clay.
