11. Stranger Things (Netflix)
This was the binge-watch everyone was talking about in 2016. Paying constant homage to 1980s television and cinema with a top-notch soundtrack to boot, this eerie and atmospheric sci-fi horror made us desperate to know the whereabouts of missing 12-year–old Will Byers, even more intrigued as to what the deal was with telekinetic foundling Eleven, and scratching our heads when everyone seemed to forget about Barb. Poor Barb. Compulsive, frightening – and as addictive as TV gets. Frances Taylor
