BBC detective series Baptiste first aired its second season in 2021, but now the spin-off from The Missing is finally coming to Netflix.

Season 2 once again stars Tchéky Karyo as the titular French detective who travels to Hungary in order to help Emma Chambers, a British Ambassador whose family has disappeared whilst on holiday in the mountains.

The cast is rounded out by the likes of Fiona Shaw, Ace Bhatti and Conrad Khan, but who else stars with them and who do they all play?

Who is Julien Baptiste? The French detective who led the investigations in The Missing series one and two is now staying in Amsterdam with his wife at his daughter’s home. Having recovered from an operation to remove his brain tumour, he is asked to work on the case of a missing sex worker in the Dutch capital.

What else has Tchéky Karyo starred in? The French actor became famous in the UK for his role in both series of The Missing, but he was well established in France before that, having starred in the 1988 French movie L’Ours (The Bear) and Luc Besson’s Nikita. His Hollywood career includes appearances in Bad Boys and The Patriot.

Anastasia Hille as Celia

Who is Celia? She is Baptiste’s loving wife, who we first met in The Missing, and who is staying with him in Amsterdam. They have been through thick and thin together but when Baptiste’s latest case brings danger not only to himself but to his family, their relationship comes under strain.

What else has Anastasia Hille starred in? Apart from The Missing, Hille has also appeared in the TV series Wanderlust, Humans, Not Safe for Work and The Tunnel, to name a few. She has also appeared in the films Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! and Snow White and the Huntsman. Since Baptiste first aired, she has starred in The Ipcress File, A Spy Among Friends and I Hate Suzie Too.

Fiona Shaw as Emma Chambers

Who is Emma? Emma Chambers is a British Ambassador whose husband and two teenage sons go missing whilst they're all on holiday in Hungary. Baptiste offers to help search for her family and the two form a friendship.

Where have I seen Fiona Shaw before? Fiona Shaw is best known her roles in Harry Potter series, Jane Eyre, Colette, Fleabag, Killing Eve and more recently, Ammonite with Kate Winslet and Saoirse Ronan, and Star Wars series Andor.

Ace Bhatti as Nadeem

Who is Nadeem? Nadeem is a member of Emma's team at the Embassy, who helps to manage the media frenzy around her and her missing family.

Where have I seen Ace Bhatti before? Bhatti is best known for playing Yusef Khan in EastEnders, PCC Rohan Sindwhani in Line of Duty and for his roles in Coronation Street, Three Girls, The Stranger, No Offence and Bohemian Rhapsody. Since appearing in Baptiste, he has also had roles in Midsomer Murders, Sherwood, Ackley Bridge and The Good Karma Hospital.

Dorka Gryllus as Zsófia Arslan

Who is Zsófia? Zsófia is a Hungarian detective who is assigned to Emma's case and finds Baptiste's interference in her investigation irritating.

Where have I seen Dorka Gryllus before? Hungarian actor Dorka Gryllus has appeared in a series of films, including The Bone Man, Soul Kitchen and Irina Palm.

Miklós Béres as András Juszt

Who is András? András is a mysterious figure with a distinctive tattoo on his neck, who Baptiste believes is involved in the kidnapping of Emma's family.

Where have I seen Miklós Béres before? Béres has appeared in X Company, Shepherd: The Hero Dog and Paramount Plus series Halo.

Conrad Khan as Will Chambers

Who is Will Chambers? Will is Emma and Richard's son who has not spoken in two years.

Where have I seen Conrad Khan before? BAFTA nominee Conrad Khan has appeared in Black Mirror, County Lines, The Huntsman: Winter's War and the final season of Peaky Blinders, in which he played Duke Shelby.

Adrian Rawlins as Richard Chambers

Who is Richard? Richard is Emma's husband, who disappears with his two sons the morning after he has an argument with Emma.

Where have I seen Adrian Rawlins before? Best known for playing James Potter in the Harry Potter series, Rawlins has also appeared in A Discovery of Witches, Grace, Small Axe, Sanditon, Chernobyl, Innocent, Dickensian and Silent Witness. Since Baptiste, he has appeared in Andor, Slow Horses, All Creatures Great and Small and Gentleman Jack.

Stuart Campbell as Alex Chambers

Who is Alex Chambers? Alex is Emma and Richard's teenage son.

Where have I seen Stuart Campbell before? Campbell has appeared in SAS Rogue Heroes, Professor T, Clique, Outlander, Hetty Feather, Doctors, Suspects.
