Cathy – Sharon Small
A geriatric nurse who works alongside Sam’s mother Jenny, Cathy is the first to question Sam’s strange behaviour.
Small is perhaps best known as DS Barbara Havers in The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, but has starred in numerous British TV dramas including Mistresses, Law & Order UK, Silent Witness, Call the Midwife and Downton Abbey. Small also had a role in 2002 British film comedy About a Boy.
Oscar – Earl Cave
Initially a friend of Sam’s, Oscar picks up on some inconsistencies in his stories about the death of his father.
Earl is the son of musician and filmmaker Nick Cave. This is one of his first performances on screen, having previously only been credited for his dad's documentary 20,000 Days on Earth.
Margaret – Elizabeth Counsell
Bill’s elderly mother Margaret is a patient at the hospital in which Sam’s mother Jenny is a geriatric nurse.
Counsell has been appearing on screen since the early 1960s, starring as Eponine in a 1967 TV mini-series of Les Misérables and the BBC mini-series Agatha Christie's Miss Marple: The Moving Finger, among others. More recently, she has had roles in the biographical film Grace of Monaco, starring Nicole Kidman, the TV drama Doctors, and Casualty.
Peter – Richard Coyle
Sam’s violent father is nearing his parole date, a secret Sam’s mother would rather keep, having convinced Sam that his dad died in a car crash.
Richard Coyle got his television break in 90s comedy Coupling and has since starred in Strange, Covert Affairs, The Fall and US drama Crossbones.
