Ellie's father has come to stay with the Miller family following the death of his wife.

British entertainment legend Hudd has popped up on both the big and small screens and on radio during his long and illustrious career. Fans of Coronation Street will recognise him as undertaker Archie Shuttleworth, but he’s also popped up in Benidorm, Ashes to Ashes, Call The Midwife, Midsomer Murders and Holby City to name but a few. He’s still best known for BBC Radio 2 show The News Huddlines, though.

Nige was last spotted helping Mark Latimer to drive Joe Miller out of town. With his mum firmly out of the picture and his boss still reeling from his son’s murder, where will the plumber find himself in series three?

The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies (he played Vincent Tabak) star has been busy enough in the years between Broadchurch series with roles in Chuggington, Endeavour, Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands and Houdini and Doyle to his name. Oh, and he’s also due to star in the upcoming Red Dwarf revival too.

Sahana is Beth's boss and sees great potential in her, praising her ability to offer support and guidance to those who've been affected by sexual violence.

Casualty fans will know Sunetra best as Zoe Hanna, a role she played for 9 years from 2007 to 2016. You might also have spotted her in No Angels and Emmerdale, but chances are you'll remember her as Brookside's Nisha Batra, who she played for a whopping 14 years between 1988 and 2002.

Episode four sees a new suspect enter the scene, Aaron Mayford. It's time for Hardy and Miller to pay him a visit...

Jim Howick is now best known as one of the comic geniuses behind CBBC's Horrible Histories. He's also the co-creator, writer and star of Sky 1's comic fantasy Yonderland, featuring many of the cast from Horrible Histories.

But for many, he will always be Gerard from Peep Show, Mark's hapless rival for Dobby's affections. His appearance here in Broadchurch underlines how good the show has become in pulling dramatic performances from comedy stars.
