Tamara Lawrance: Jess

Lawrance takes over the role of Jess (Prince Harry’s commoner girlfriend) from Tafline Steen in the original run of the play, and is fairly new to acting having just left drama school a couple of years ago.

She has previously appeared in BBC thriller Undercover alongside Adrian Lester and Sophie Okonedo, as well as the filmed National Theatre Live production of Twelfth Night earlier this year where she appears alongside King Charles III co-star Oliver Chris (with the pair playing love interests Orsino and Viola).

Other theatre credits include Unreachable alongside Matt Smith and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

Adam James: Prime Minister Tristram Evans

James was born into something of a legacy of acting, with Doctor Who star Jon Pertwee acting as his godfather when he was born in 1972. Appropriately, James would later act in Doctor Who himself for 2008 special Planet of the Dead alongside David Tennant.

Significant roles for James over the years include parts in Band of Brothers, Love Soup, Waking the Dead, Judge John Deed, Extras and Ashes to Ashes, with a regular role as Pete Guildford in Casualty and many a guest spot in the likes of Bonekickers, Harley Street, A Touch of Frost and Miranda.

He has appeared as two separate characters in Silent Witness (Eden Blackman in a 1998 two-parter and Dr Richard Fell in 2013) and has also starred in both Inspector Morse follow-ops Lewis and Endeavour, playing Ethan Croft in the former and Kent Finn in the latter.

Recent years have seen him appear in Grantchester, The Game, The Crimson Field and King Charles III writer Mike Bartlett’s TV drama Doctor Foster, where he played the regular role of family friend Neil. He originated the role of Prime Minister Evans in the original run of King Charles III, playing him in London and on Broadway.
