Adam – Julian Morris
Adam is Flora's grandson and was raised by her after his parents died in a car crash. He now lives in her basement flat and works as a vet, but he has kept his sexuality hidden from her. When he meets Steve, Adam's new relationship threatens the bond he shares with his grandmother who holds on to wounds she has carried since the early days of her marriage.

English actor Julian Morris is far better known for his roles on American television. Starting out as Dr Andrew Wade in ER, he has since gone on to film guest arcs in 24, Once Upon a Time, Pretty Little Liars and New Girl, and played Reverend Paul Curtis in Amazon series Hand of God.
Steve – David Gyasi
An architectural designer living in London, Steve has been with older man Caspar for almost 20 years. But with cracks starting to show, the pair's open relationship leads Steve to yearn for Adam. Is he worth risking everything for?

David Gyasi is another English actor to find success overseas, appearing in Hollywood films Interstellar and Cloud Atlas as well as US series Containment. He will play Achilles in BBC and Netflix's 2018 co-production Troy: Fall of a City.
Caspar – Julian Sands
Caspar is an urban art buyer and the partner of Steve for 20 years. He's perfectly content with their open relationship – that is until Steve meets Adam and feels a deeper pull towards the young vet.

Known on TV for playing Vladimir Bierko in 24 and Jor-El in Smallville, Julian Sands has also appeared in films The Killing Fields, A Room with a View, Warlock and Arachnophobia.
Claudie – played by Angel Coulby
Claudie is Adam's best friend and pushes him into testing out new romances – although she's wary of his reliance on dating apps. She's heavily pregnant with twins.

Angel Coulby is best known to fans of BBC drama as Guinevere "Gwen" in the TV series Merlin. She's also appeared in Dancing on the Edge and The Tunnel, and voiced Tanusha "Kayo" Kyrano in Thunderbirds Are Go.
