From the box office blockbusters to the all-important supporting stars, here's who's who in the fourth series of Sherlock and where you may have seen them before
Sacha Dawan – Ajay
Meet Ajay Ajay is part of Mary's dark past as a special ops mercenary (although, it may be hard to recognise him in this rather clean-cut image). Believing that she betrayed him, he set out for revenge but was shot while training his gun on Mary.
What else has Sacha Dawan been in? It should come as no surprise that Dawan landed a role in Sherlock – he's a favourite of Mark Gatiss's, having previously appeared in An Adventure in Space and Time, his drama about the birth of Doctor Who, and The Tractate Middoth, his version of an MR James ghost story, which aired at Christmas in 2013. US viewers may recognise Dawan from NBC sitcom Outsourced, and back in the UK he's also appeared as a drink and drugs obsessed civil servant in edgy Channel 4 comedy Not Safe For Work, a toy boy in BBC1's Last Tango in Halifax and as Jimmy Dillon in the final series of ITV period drama Mr Selfridge.
