Meet the cast of The Missing series 2
Keeley Hawes and David Morrissey star in the second series of the BBC thriller – find out more about all the cast and characters here
Gemma Webster – played by Keeley Hawes
Teacher Gemma Webster lives with her Army husband Sam and their son Matthew in Germany, where Sam is posted. Gemma never learned the truth of what happened to her daughter, and is completely unprepared when she comes back into their lives 11 years later.
Keeley Hawes became one of television's most in demand performers following her standout role as DI Lindsay Denton in BBC2's Line of Duty, but that was only the latest in a proud line of TV roles. She starred in BBC2 retro cop thriller Ashes to Ashes and appeared in espionage thriller Spooks – where she met her husband Matthew Macfadyen. Recent roles include JK Rowling adaptation The Casual Vacancy and a guest starring role in Doctor Who.
Oh, and she also voiced the character of Lara Croft in several Tomb Raider games. Can't hear it? You will now...
Sam Webster – played by David Morrissey
Military man Sam is emotionally wrecked after his daughter Alice goes missing, which makes him increasingly distant from the rest of his family just when they need him most.
David Morrissey has returned to regular UK television roles after his gripping run as The Governor in US drama The Walking Dead. We should all be thankful. The British actor established himself with award-winning performances in State of Play and playing Gordon Brown in The Deal. More recently, he's appeared in unnerving British film The Ones Below, BBC crime drama The Driver and romantic drama The 7.39 alongside Sheridan Smith.
Matthew Webster – Jake Davies
Matthew was the last person to see his sister before she was abducted. He was just a child then, but as he's grown up his behaviour has become increasingly erratic.
Jake Davies earned an Evening Standard Rising Star nomination for his role playing an autistic teen in maths drama X+Y. He also featured alongside eventual Rising Star winner Maisie Williams in Channel 4 TV movie Cyberbully. He also features in short film Pregnant Pause, showing at the London Film Festival.
Young Matthew is played by child actor Oaklee Pendergast, who appeared in The Woman In Black 2.

Eve Stone – played by Laura Fraser
Sergeant Eve Stone works as a Military Police officer on the base where the Websters live. Heavily pregnant, she takes charge of the investigation after Alice returns.
Scottish actress Laura Fraser's career hit another high when she appeared in cult US drama Breaking Bad. Before that, she had appeared in period dramas including Casanova and He Knew He Was Right, as well as starring opposite Heath Ledger in movie A Knight's Tale.
