Jorn Lenhart – Florian Bartholomäi
German police officer Jorn works alongside the British Military Police in Eckhausen on the Alice Webster case.
German actor Florian Bartholomäi featured in 2008 Oscar-nominated film The Reader, and more recently appeared in Cold War thriller Deutschland 83 – shown on Channel 4 here in the UK.
Daniel Reed – Daniel Ezra
Soldier Daniel Reed is a young recruit working on the base in Eckhausen, who attends the funeral of his father following an apparent suicide.
Daniel Ezra was last seen on BBC in thriller Undercover starring Adrian Lester and Sophie Okonedo. He also appeared in BBC3 drama Murdered By My Boyfriend.
Brigadier Adrian Stone – Roger Allam
The commander of the base in Eckhausen, Brigadier Stone is a dedicated man who attempts to liaise with the German police on this sensitive case. His daughter is Sergeant Eve Stone, and he's worried that she is taking on too much at such a late stage in her pregnancy.
The most experienced actor in The Missing series two, who has had a string of recent TV hits including ITV's Morse prequel Endeavour and in BBC2 political comedy The Thick of It.
The Olivier Award-winning actor played Inspector Javert in the original theatre run of Les Miserables – but even if you haven't seen him on stage or screen, you might just have heard him in standout BBC Radio 4 comedy Cabin Pressure.
Stefan Anderssen – Olafur Darri Olafsson
A foreign journalist and fixer who is contacted by Julien when he steps into unknown territory.
The 6ft 5in actor is one of the most recognised actors in Iceland after starring in Trapped, the country's most expensive ever TV series. The series was shown on BBC4 here. Away from Iceland, he's also appeared in series one of True Detective, and voiced – appropriately – a giant in the big screen adaptation of The BFG.
