This Friday night will look slightly different on BBC One, as fans of Graham Norton won't have a new episode of his iconic talk show to look forward to.

That's right, there won't be a new episode of The Graham Norton Show on this week due to the fact that Children in Need returns to our screens.

While many may be a little disappointed at the fact that they won't have any celebrity guests to help wile away their Friday evenings, the iconic Red Chair will be making an appearance on the night – don't worry.

On the Children in Need-dedicated night in question, the show will see Graham Norton’s Red Chair return with a twist, as a group of children from BBC Children in Need projects decide the fate of some famous faces who attempt to make them laugh.

If they fail, though, both they and the chair will be tipped up.

The Graham Norton Show will return to our screens the following week.

As for Children in Need, aka the UK's biggest fundraising event, it will once again see a litany of well-known faces clubbing together to raise life-changing funds for children and young people across the UK.

The hosting line-up for this year's Children in Need includes Ade Adepitan MBE, Mel Giedroyc, Rochelle Humes and Vernon Kay. They will be joined by stand-up comic Chris Ramsey, as well as Lenny Rush.

The first child presenter of the show, Rush said: "I am presenting for the second year in a row. I am so excited, I absolutely love it! It’s an honour to host one of the most iconic events on TV.

"I am excited to see all the amazing fundraising again and how much everyone puts into everything. I am excited to be up there and presenting. It’s such a buzz!"

As well as special segments on Dragons' Den, CBeebies Bedtime Story and BBC’s Gladiators, Doctor Who fans are also in for a treat, as Ncuti Gatwa will be introducing a world exclusive preview from the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special.

It's set to be a major moment for Whovians, with showrunner Russell T Davies previously saying of the upcoming Christmas special: "Now the Doctor voyages forward, and guess what always happens to the Doctor every so often - Christmas! Here comes Christmas.

"I can't give away much more but work has begun on it already, and it's mad, it's one of the maddest Christmas specials you'll ever see. It's epic, it goes to so many different places. And it's a great story of who the Doctor is when he's alone."

Children in Need returns to BBC One and iPlayer at 7pm on Friday 15th November 2024.
