Celebrity Gogglebox 2024 line-up: Meet the famous telly watchers
The star-studded sofas are back once more!
Celebrity Gogglebox is back for another star-studded season, filled with some of the harshest armchair critics in the entertainment world.
This year's line-up features four new celebrity pairings from all sides of the entertainment world, including Miriam Margolyes and Lesley Joseph, who are thrilled to be joining the series.
"What a joy it is to be doing Gogglebox for Stand Up to Cancer this year, as it's such a vital cause and tangibly changes lives," said Joseph.
"And what fun it'll be to sit and watch some TV with Miriam Margolyes. I'm sure she'll have plenty of outrageous things to say, so I'll be there trying to keep her in line – no easy task, mind you!"
But who else will be leaving audiences in stitches with their TV show commentary?
Read on to find out which celebrities are taking part in this year's Celebrity Gogglebox.
Celebrity Gogglebox 2024 line-up
Miriam Margolyes and Lesley Joseph
Miriam Margolyes is an actress best known for her work across stage and screen, and has received acclaim for her roles in The Age of Innocence and the Harry Potter films.
Margolyes said of joining the Gogglebox line-up: "When they asked me to do Gogglebox for Stand Up to Cancer, I thought, 'Well, if I can watch television AND raise money for a wonderful cause, count me in!'
"What could be better than that – and doing it with my brilliant old friend of nearly 40 years - Lesley Joseph? She's wise and funny and knows everyone; a perfect partner in crime. Also, Stand Up to Cancer does vital work, and if we two old birds can help towards that – just show me the sofa, I'm all for it."
Lesley Joseph is an actress and broadcaster, best known for her role as Dorien Green in Birds of a Feather.
Frank Skinner and David Baddiel
Long time friends David Baddiel and Frank Skinner join the 2024 Gogglebox line-up and are both known for their comedy work.
Skinner said of joining the show: "I've been watching TV with David Baddiel for about 30 years. We used to laugh uncontrollably at infomercials and then Dave would actually buy the product. The only TV I refused to watch with him was stuff featuring me.
"He never laughed enough. Stand up to Cancer is an amazing cause and Dave and me, back on a sofa, seems a much better deal than cycling up K2, carrying a fridge to Istanbul or any of that other sweaty stuff that people do for charity.:
Baddiel added: "I'm a big fan of Gogglebox, Stand Up To Cancer, and Frank Skinner, so this wasn’t a difficult yes. If we can raise awareness and cash to fight this terrible disease, then it’s worth the enormous effort of slumping in front of the screen with my old friend and saying some stuff."
Kristin Scott Thomas and Saskia Reeves
Kristin Scott Thomas is an actress, whose work includes Four Weddings and a Funeral, Mission: Impossible and Darkest Hour.
She said of joining this year's line-up: "As a long standing Gogglebox watcher I am beyond happy to find myself joining the Gogglebox family, sitting on a sofa watching telly along with my lovely friend Saskia Reeves.
"And watching telly while raising awareness for Stand Up to Cancer is a win-win, as it feels important for me to contribute to this vital cause; cancer affects far too many of us. I hope the British public will join us on their sofas this Friday night for what promises to be an evening of gasps, laughs – and tears."
Saskia Reeves is an actress, currently starring in the Apple TV+ series Slow Horses.
Tony Bellew and Jordan Pickford
Tony Bellew and Jordan Pickford were the final names announced for Celebrity Gogglebox, known for their work as a professional boxer and footballer respectively.
Pickford said: "I'm buzzing to join my mate Tony on our Gogglebox sofa for Stand Up to Cancer. It's not often you get to watch and chat about TV, while also making a difference. Everyone has been affected by cancer, so we wanted to do our bit to support this campaign which speeds up lifesaving cancer research."
Bellew added: "Jordan better not be thinking of starting any fights over the remote – I think we both know who would win that one! It’s going to be an amazing evening – what a great chance to kick back with one of my mates and enjoy some of the weeks’ best TV, all whilst helping raise money for a good cause."
