The show has been given a little bit of makeover for 2021, adopting some themes from the super popular Australian version, such as commitment ceremonies and dinners.

Also new to the UK series is sex therapist Charlene Douglas, and psychiatrist Mel Schilling, who moves over from the Australian series.

They join matchmaker Paul C Brunson, who made his debut on the show last year alongside Genevieve Gresset and Dr Angela Smith.

Unfortunately, Gresset and Smith won't be on the new series.

Here's everything you need to know about the Married at First Sight UK 2021 experts.

Paul C Brunson

Paul C Brunson is best known as one of the dating coaches on E4's reality series Celebs Go Dating, which he joined in 2018.

The expert, who calls himself "the world's most influential matchmaker", runs his own matchmaking company, PCB Agency, has written a book about dating and co-hosted a matchmaking show with Oprah Winfrey called Lovetown. He has been married to his wife Jill since 2000 and the couple have two children together.

Speaking to The Mirror about his involvement on the show, he said: "I don't think you can be a great matchmaker unless you’re confident that you can put together great matches, and we can. We are the all-stars of matchmaking."

He added: “For the first time ever the UK is going to get a look at what modern day matchmaking really looks like and that it is far from making a mockery of marriage, it’s in support of the institution of marriage."

Charlene Douglas

Charlene Douglas is a sex therapist from London. She joined the show for the new series which started on Monday, 30th August.

She previously appeared as a sex therapist on E4’s The Sex Clinic, and has "developed a practice that allows couples to connect more deeply, communicate better, build trust and enjoy love and sex."

Speaking about her new role, Charlene said: “I am delighted to be joining this new series of Married at First Sight UK. This is a brand-new role for the show and it is important to remember that these couples have just met and are going to be getting to know each other quickly. I’m really looking forward to getting to know them all and digging deeper into their relationships and finding new ways for them to connect on a more intimate level. It’s also really interesting to bring my knowledge alongside the expertise of Mel and Paul. As a trio, I think we will make a really great team.”

Mel Schilling

Fans of the franchise will recognise Mel Schilling from Married at First Sight Australia where she's worked over the years as a psychiatrist.

She has over 20 years of experience as a qualified specialist in human behavioural performance and purpose. Mel also has reputation for asking provocative questions and holding everyone accountable for their actions.

Speaking of how they've "spiced up" the new series of MaFS, Mel told RadioTimes.com: "I think one of the most exciting things is we’ve borrowed or copied some of the format elements from the Australian series, which was really popular here.

"So things like dinner parties where all our couples come together and it’s that melting pot of emotion and dinner really, and maybe a drink or two, and of course, the commitment ceremonies as well where our couples actually need to make that decision to stay or leave and have a chat with us about their relationships each week.”
