Fans had to wait a long time for Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 to arrive, and now the first chapter of its latest instalment has officially come to a close – ending on one of the most anticipated battles of the Culling Game arc.

The anime returned earlier this year with the highly anticipated Culling Game arc, and the action has escalated with each episode, as Yuji Itadori and his allies fought to survive Kenjaku’s deadly sorcerer tournament.

Fans were even treated to a closing extended episode, culminating in the Sendai Colony battle, a showdown that was widely considered as one of the most anticipated sequences of the Culling Game storyline.

The dark, supernatural action anime based on the equally popular manga series by Gege Akutami, Jujutsu Kaisen follows Yuji Itadori as he learns to wield jujutsu sorcery.

After eating a cursed finger to save his classmate, Yuji gains supernatural powers and is enrolled in Tokyo Jujutsu High School to develop his skills and fight cursed spirits.

Season 3 picked up the story with the brutal Culling Game, where sorcerers are forced to fight across deadly colonies in Japan in order to survive - with the escalating battles playing out across Tokyo Colony No.1 and culminating in the Sendai Colony showdown.

With Season 3 Part 1 now at an end, fans may be wondering when the story will continue - so here’s everything you need to know about Jujutsu Kaisen season 3’s release schedule.

Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 release schedule: When is episode 13 out?

While an official release date for The Culling Game Part 2 has yet to be confirmed by Crunchyroll or MAPPA, there are some strong clues about when the series could return.

If season 3 follows a similar release pattern to season 2 - which was split into two cours with a break in between - it’s likely that Part 2 will arrive after a standard three-month hiatus.

Based on this schedule, a summer 2026 release window (likely July 2026) would traditionally be expected.

However, recent reports suggest that fans may be waiting longer than anticipated for Part 2.

Based on current broadcast scheduling in Japan, the time slot previously occupied by Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 Part 1 is set to be filled by other series through the rest of 2026 – potentially pushing the next instalment into early 2027.

While this has yet to be officially confirmed, it makes a January 2027 release window look increasingly plausible, rather than the late 2026 return many had anticipated.

Of course, this remains speculative for now, and fans will be waiting on official confirmation from Studio MAPPA in the coming months.

New episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 arrive on Crunchyroll at 9am PT/ 12pm ET/ 5pm GMT.

For UK-based viewers, this means episodes will be available to stream on Thursday afternoons from 5pm.

However, the show has confirmed that episodes 6, 7 and the special episode will have a changed broadcast time in Japan, delaying the usual midnight slot for episodes 6 and 7 to 12:36am JST, while the recap episode will air at 2:00am JST.

While Japanese broadcast times will shift for these three episodes, this is not expected to significantly impact UK streaming release times on Crunchyroll, though minor delays could be possible.

How many episodes will there be in Jujutsu Kaisen season 3?

Crunchyroll has yet to confirm the total episode count of the third season, although the rumoured episode count is the 24 episodes, following the 23-episode second season.

The show’s official X account has since confirmed that the third season will be split into multiple parts, with Culling Game Arc Part 1 running for 12 episodes in a single cour.

Where can I watch Jujutsu Kaisen season 3?

Jujutsu Kaisen season 3 will be available to watch in the UK on specialist anime streaming service Crunchyroll.

Fans can also catch up on the first season and the prequel film Jujutsu Kaisen 0 on Netflix UK.

What’s the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen?

This dark fantasy series takes place in a world in which magic exists and action-packed battles take place between secret sorcerers and supernatural cursed spirits.

Young protagonist Yuji Itadori becomes the vessel for the powerful demon Sukuna after eating a cursed finger, and enrols at the Jujutsu High School to train in the ways of a Jujutsu Sorcerer.

In the first season, he faces his first major battles against powerful curses, including Cursed Wombs, under tutelage from mentor Satoru Gojo, and alongside Megumi Fushiguro and Nobara Kugisaki. The sophomore season ended with the culmination of the Death Painting Arc.

The second season culminated in the devastating pivotal Shibuya Incident arc, with Yuji Itadori crippled by despair after believing he killed multiple people in the devastating night of chaos and battles in the Tokyo district.

The third season is adapting the deadly Culling Game arc, with fans enjoying a brutal battle royale-style series, orchestrated by the ancient sorcerer Kenjaku, the parasitic cursed spirit.
