The Line of Duty and Mrs Biggs star enjoys a stint on screen in Rogue One as a contact of rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna). Doctor Who fans will know him best as beleaguered dad Alex in series six story Night Terrors, who struggled to cope with trying to raise his alien son, George.

What, we hear you splutter? Yes, fan-favourite Tenth Doctor David Tennant has been in Star Wars – well, one of the spin-off cartoons. He played an architect droid (apparently that’s a thing) in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars computer-animated cartoon, who mainly spent his time designing lightsabers for neophyte Jedi – a fittingly cool profession for a former Time Lord, we think.

Davis got his acting start as plucky Ewok Wicket in 1982’s Return of the Jedi, returning to play several background characters for The Phantom Menace in 1999, The Force Awakens in 2015, Rogue One in 2016, The Last Jedi in 2017 and Solo: A Star Wars story in 2018. He’s now best known for his roles as Professor Flitwick and Goblin Griphook in the Harry Potter films, but has also appeared in Doctor Who’s 2013 episode A Nightmare in Silver as Emperor “Porridge”.

EastEnders star Schofield actually appeared in Doctor Who and Star Wars in the same year, 1977. In the former he played Calib in The Face of Evil, in the latter Death Star worker Chief Bast. Quite the year.
