BritBox is adding classic kids TV shows including Press Gang and Thunderbirds
May will see vintage children's series from ITV's archives added to the service
BritBox has announced it will be adding a variety of classic kids television series from ITV's archives to its service next month.
From 7th May, the first series of Press Gang - the comedy-drama about a children's newspaper written by Steven Moffat - will be available to stream, alongside the first series of Children's Ward (1989) and The Worst Witch (1998).
The pilot episodes of Puddle Lane (1985), Murphy’s Mob (1982), Jungle Run (1999), Tots TV (1993), Wizadora (1991), Wolves, Witches and Giants (1995), and Woof! (1989) will also be made available.
Fans of Gerry Anderson and his Supermarionation series will also be happy to hear that select episodes from his back catalogue will also be available: including 10 of the best episodes of Thunderbirds and the pilot episodes of Captain Scarlet (1967), Joe 90 (1968) and Stingray (1964).
The documentary All About Thunderbirds (2008) will also be part of the new Gerry Anderson Collection.
Will Harrison, Managing Director of BritBox UK said: "We have seen a trend in our subscribers favouring 'comfy content' and lighter viewing over the last month, so we’ve been raiding the archives to keep everyone suitably entertained. We hope that our viewers enjoy the trip down memory lane as much as we have!"
