With the release of From season 3 episode 8, things are getting all the more horrifying for Fatima (Pegah Ghafoori) and her pregnancy.

While previous episodes seemed to tease that she wasn't pregnant at all, episode 8 saw Elgin confirm she's definitely pregnant - but the baby is not hers. With that horrifying reveal, he's also all but kidnapped her, assuring her that it's "for the best".

Fatima's storyline was already disturbing enough, but it's escalated in recent episodes with her murder of Tillie. But actress Pegah Ghafoori has hinted that Fatima is not in her right mind and is actually being controlled by something - which very much plays into fans' theories about her pregnancy.

Speaking to Fangirlish, she said: “I’d like to think something else was controlling her, and she just lacked the energy and the strength... to stop it."

She went on to say that she and the writers of the show wanted to be very careful with Fatima's pregnancy storyline given the real-world political climate around "everything going on with women’s freedom of their body, and their rights, and their existence".

While she described it as "empowering" to tell Fatima's story, Ghafoori added that the writers were very conscious of keeping the storyline in the realm of fiction and "not speak[ing] on things that we really didn’t have the place to be speaking and making statements about".

When asked for any advice she has for fans, Ghafoori hinted that Fatima's horrors are far from over, saying: “Buckle up, grab your spit bucket, and good f**king luck to me, mainly.”

Ghafoori's words very much tie in with fan theories that Fatima is growing a monster inside of her and that she's being controlled by this monster.

One theory, posted on X after episode 8, suggests that the monsters are turning Fatima into one of them to replace the one that Boyd killed in earlier episodes. Another suggests that Fatima is going to give birth to the children that are at the core of the mystery in Fromland.

Meanwhile, other viewers are convinced that the series is preparing to kill Fatima off, following on from the brutal and unforgiving deaths we've already seen this season.

Boyd actor Harold Perrineau recently teased what's in store for Fatima, telling RadioTimes.com: "This baby is bizarre. When my wife was pregnant with our second kid, she craved iced tea, and so my second kid, he likes iced tea - if that's any indication of what's to come with Fatima...

"She's not drinking iced tea. So, yeah, this baby is striking, to say the least."
