Plot summary
Thrill-seeking globetrotter Cooper visits Britain, hooks up with Sonja and tests a video game so advanced, it’s terrifying. A videogame-themed instalment directed by Dan Trachtenberg, fresh off the success of 10 Cloverfield Lane.
Wyatt Russell – Cooper
Who does he play?
He plays easy-going and thrill-seeking Cooper, a charmer who's travelling the world until he runs out of money and luck in the UK.
Where have I seen him before?
Russell, a former professional Hockey player, is probably best known for portraying lovable super-jock Zook in 22 Jump Street.
Hannah John-Kamen – Sonja
Who does she play?
She’s the girl who lets Cooper stay the night and gives him the idea of delving into a gaming company.
Where have I seen her?
In the first season of Black Mirror, John-Kamen played Selma Telse in the episode 15 Million Merits. She was the last winner of X Factor type talent show Hot Shot. You might also recognise her from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, where she played a First Order officer, or as an ice cream salesman in Misfits.
Wunmi Mosaku – Katie
Who does she play?
Mosaku plays Cooper’s guide to Saito Gemu games – she’s the one who keeps in contact with him as he delves further into the new gaming system.
Where have I seen her?
You may have seen her as the young nun from Philomena, plus as Kahina Ziri in Batman vs Superman (the woman blackmailed by Lex Luthor to testifying against Superman in the Capitol building).
Ken Yamamura – Saito Gemu
Who does he play?
Yamamura is Saito Gemu, the secretive (and very jolly) horror games master.
Where have I seen him?
Most likely in The Wolverine as Young Yashida, or in Godzilla as Takashi.
