Arsenal hope to have a host of key stars back for their trip to Bournemouth as the Premier League returns on Saturday.

The Gunners are already without captain Martin Ødegaard, among others, and face a nervous wait on the fitness of Gabriel Martinelli, but there is thought to be optimism at the Emirates that Bukayo Saka, Ben White and Kai Havertz could all be fit.

That would be a major boost for Mikel Arteta as his team look to move back to the top of the table by beating the Cherries - with leaders Liverpool and second-place Man City both playing on Sunday.

History is on their side, as the North Londoners have lost just once to Bournemouth in their history and are gunning for a sixth-consecutive win against their hosts.

The Cherries have been a hard side to predict this term - impressing against the likes of Newcastle, Everton, Chelsea and Southampton but sliding to a 1-0 defeat, their third in four games, against newly-promoted Leicester last time out.

Things could get worse before they get better for Bournemouth and Andoni Iraola, who have Aston Villa and Man City to come after Arsenal's visit.
