Former Bournemouth talisman Dominic Solanke returns to the club he made a name for himself at with his resurgent Tottenham team.

Solanke notched 77 goals in 216 games for the Cherries after they took a punt on the one-time Chelsea and Liverpool youngster.

He grew into his role at the club over six mixed seasons before becoming Spurs' record signing for £65 million last summer.

He will likely face a warm reception upon his return to the Vitality, but Solanke won't be in the mood to show too much mercy with Spurs finally looking upwards again.

Ange Postecoglou appeared to be on the edge after dismal defeats to Ipswich and Galatasaray in November, but what better way to reassert your position than blowing away Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad – even if a subsequent draw to Fulham slightly dampened the mood.

Spurs have been here before, however. Big wins rarely lead to more wins. That has to change now if they are to truly compete for silverware of any kind this term.
