Sunday's feast of Premier League football gets underway at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea host Aston Villa.
Enzo Maresca has already ruled his Blues out of the title race despite a strong start to his debut campaign but a victory could see them finish the weekend in second - with top-two Liverpool and Man City set to face off at Anfield later in the afternoon.
They returned from the international break with a victory over Maresca's former team Leicester and now go in search of a seventh Premier League win against a Villa side that have gone off the boil in recent weeks.
The visitors picked up where they left off in 2023/24 in the early weeks of the new campaign, winning nine of their first 12 games and looking a threat on all fronts, but have faltered since the end of October. Unai Emery's side have failed to win in any of their last seven games in all competitions – the longest drought of the Spaniard's tenure – and have dropped to eighth in the Premier League as a result.
That run continued against Juventus on Wednesday but there were certainly positives for Emery to take from the goalless draw at Villa Park and a return to form at Stamford Bridge would be a real statement of intent.
