Preston North End boss Paul Heckingbottom will be expecting a response from his players when Watford visit Deepdale on Wednesday.

Heckingbottom publicly expressed his disappointment in the wake of last Saturday's tame 3-1 defeat at Millwall, which made it four league games without a win for the Lilywhites.

Preston are sitting in the Championship relegation zone at this early stage, but a return to home soil represents a decent chance to get points on the board as they are unbeaten in all competitions at Deepdale since losing to Sheffield United on the opening day of the season.

Watford arrested their recent winless streak by beating high-flying Sunderland last Saturday, with Tom Dele-Bashiru's late penalty settling the contest at Vicarage Road after Festy Ebosele and Wilson Isidor traded goals.

The Hornets are one of the Championship's great entertainers as there have been 22 goals in their seven games - a league-high record with Millwall - but Tom Cleverley will, no doubt, want his side to keep it tight in a bid to end their losing run on the road in all competitions.
